NBAIM
follows strict quality and biosafety standards in the
laboratories as well as culture collection. NBAIM repository
has 2517 cultures, which includes filamentous fungi, bacteria,
actinomycetes and yeasts isolated from various sources
like soil, plant, insect, etc. Each culture is preserved
by at least two methods according to the type of microorganism,
either under mineral oil storage, or storage in glycerol
at - 80o C, or by freeze-drying/ lyophilization or under
cryopreservation.
